Aims of the Course:
The Introduction to Social Media for Media Professionals course has been developed with a strong emphasis on practical problem-solving skills.
Alongside an interactive presentation and Q&A session, we devote a substantial section of the course to putting together a social media strategy for a real-life media project.
Please bring along a media project or issue you would like addressed.
About the Course Tutor:
This training is led by Chi-chi Ekweozor, a gifted communicator with more than 5 years experience in creating original content for the web. Her company, Real Fresh TV, published Europe’s first video podcast, the 3 Minute Gig in 2006 and now advises companies as varied as Arts Council England and T-Mobile on how to create and execute effective social media campaigns.
Equally at home with developing multi-platform content campaigns as she is with devising social media marketing campaigns, she has a particular talent for presenting new media concepts in clear, everyday language.
She was short listed for a 4Talent 2008 Multi-Platform Award and her widely read social media and multi-platform marketing blog is at www.realfresh.tv. She twitters at twitter.com/realfreshtv.
She also organises the monthly Social Media Surgery in Manchester, part of the city's influential Social Media Cafe network.
Social Media Surgery events are informal, free-to-attend, afternoon business networking events based around a panel made up of social media practitioners and agencies discussing and dissecting social media project issues presented by the attending crowd.
